Teen & Adolescent Counseling
Navigating Life’s Challenges
At Know Your Worth Counseling, we understand that adolescence is a time of tremendous growth, change, and often confusion. The journey from childhood to adulthood can bring about unique challenges, from academic stress and identity struggles to peer pressure and emotional turmoil. Our teen and adolescent counseling services are designed to help young individuals navigate these challenges while fostering personal growth, resilience, and emotional well-being, starting at age 10.
Teen and adolescent counseling provides a safe and supportive environment where teenagers can talk openly about their thoughts, feelings, and concerns. Our licensed therapists use age-appropriate therapeutic techniques to help teens better understand themselves, improve communication skills, and develop effective coping strategies for life’s challenges.

✔ Therapeutic Techniques – We use evidence-based approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), trauma-informed care, and mindfulness techniques to support emotional growth.

Why Teen Counseling is Important
Adolescence is a critical time for emotional, psychological, and social development. Therapy during this stage can help teens develop the coping skills they need to face life’s challenges. Counseling can also equip teens with the emotional tools to build resilience, create healthy relationships, and make positive life choices that will benefit them well into adulthood.
How to Know if Your Teen Could Benefit from Counseling
Some signs that your teen might benefit from counseling include:
Withdrawal from family and friends
Drastic changes in behavior, mood, or school performance
Difficulty coping with stress or anxiety
Low self-esteem or negative self-talk
Engaging in risky behaviors or experimenting with substances
Difficulty managing emotions or communicating effectively
A traumatic event or significant loss
Do I Have to Be Present During Sessions?
While our therapists create a comfortable environment for teens to speak freely, we believe in the importance of family involvement as needed. Parents are present in the first session to provide support, help understand the therapy process, and discuss goals. From there, teens typically meet with the therapist individually until a parent meeting is scheduled to discuss progress and/or needs. Confidentiality is prioritized, but we always work closely with parents to ensure the well-being of the teen and family as a whole.
